So, as I was putting this shit on photobucket, I realised that the first post I ever put on here contained photos from last year's Latitude (where I wore a tutu, ohhhh jeez...) which means that we must have just passed EE's first birthday! Thanks everyone for supporting me throughout the years and, uh, I've never been good at the whole thanking thing, but....yeah :)

I saw a lot of amazing bands (Florence + The Machine, Mumford and Sons, Yeasayer, Darwin Deez, Hockey, The Midnight Beast, etc) but sadly I didn't get any particularly good photos. The best ones were of the Horrors cause the stage was all backlit, meaning they were automatically all artsy :p

Sorry I haven't bloggererd in a while. Last week involved spider man phones and colouring in Scotland, but it was kinda sunny the other day in London so Nicky and I went and took some photos.

I should really just set my aperture to automatic and stop ruining my pictures :p

ahaaah I managed to create a light source :)

oh, and I saw Kick Ass today which was insane, Aaron Johnson and jetpacks in the same movie omg! wooooooohooooooo, easter holidays are HERE!
To celebrate three-and-a-bit weeks of freedom, Lucy, Bel and I went down to Portobello and took photos and bought three pound sweaters and sang Itchycoo Park at the top of our voices :)

So, whilst I was away, Kiki tagged me for Cassie's Therapy Video which is an extremely interesting blog tag hosted by Erimentha of The Little Blog of Happiness.

The annoying thing is, I couldn't access the video... (Here is the link that I was given, apparently it has been 'blocked in my country' for some reason or another) so I kinda just had to guess what it was about :)

This is some awesome miami street style. She asked me if I wanted to work for american apparel in Miami (oh what a wonderful place, I am actually wanted) and we eventually got into a long conversation about photography, art college, etc.

Still, I tackled my fear of asking people for their photos :)

...it still hasn't quite sunk in yet that my second favourite designer is gone, which means this post might be a little bit sombre even though I do have two things to tell you about.

As I mentioned before, I recieved a very intriguing email inviting me to take part in vouchercodes.co.uk's 'Bargainista Challenge.' The winner, along with a friend, get to attend London Fashion Weekend and the second prize is some pretty generous Topshop Vouchers.

The aim of the competition is to put together your best bargain finds then put a picture on your blog along with bargain-y tips.

My tip is to conventionally raid other people's closets! Grandmas work especially well... also, you never know what you could find at a boot sale! (that's a swap meet for you americans.)

I started taking photos for the Winter Blues competion on Lookbook in front of my new wall.... I raided my Dad's record collection whilst he was at the Superbowl. ehhhhehehheheh :)

(^^^what my mum said to me the other day when Bee and I were making yummy buttercream icing and it went all over the kitchen.)

Anyway, michelle of glisters and blisters asked me to draw her (I was going to use the term "bellafy" but it made me physically cringe inside my cowboy boots.) She has a fantasic polished-yet-edgy style, creating some patchwork leggings which I find pure genius :) Of course they were included in my drawing along with some other stuff I thought she'd be likely to wear. taadaaaaaahahhh

So, it is the last day of holidays (well, technically, the first day back, but I'm home sick...) and I still owe you 14 things. Here they are and I've made them all cool too with the whole "my top..(insert thingie)..of the winter holidays" theme :)

I Told you I was Freaky - Flight of the Conchords. (It could be the Cure greatest Hits but I feel I've gone on about that enough.) but honestly, every song is hilarious and completely listenable - not just soundtracky / pisstakey.

11. tv MISFITS. oh. my. god. My brother and I downloaded all six glorious episodes onto our ipods between us... I know I'm being cringingly teenage but it is, in fact, an AMAZING show. I could go on about it for a whole post so, I'll tell you what, if you share my views, email me and we can have a nice gossip. OK one more thing: NATHAN :D

12. makeup Stargazer hot pink lipstick. The colour looks like it was designed by a five-year-old hannah montana fan but it does go with everything :)

13. website Youtube! I haven't always been a big fan of it (ie I only watched Charlie the Unicorn, charlieissocoollike and nerimon. oh and the dramatic gopher) but after staying up untill 4am the other night with Abbie surfing it I believe I may be hooked :)

Oh and also a website we found which lets you watch every pokemon episode for FREE! OMG! I'm such a freak!

2) I have been working on a story for my little cousin. I write her one every christmas and it tends to eat up a lot of my time.
3) I have been in GERMANY with bee for the last few days and, awesome as it was, I was sans internet.
4) Today I was seeing Where the Wild Things are, which I thought was absolutely stunning, I loved the imagination, the colour scheme, the soundtrack by Karen O and it featured possibly the coolest fort ever :]

My dream holiday would be in Tokyo, and I plan to live there at some point.
Last night I watched Pretty in Pink and 16 candles. Oh em gee, it doesn't get much better than that. Oh wait, it does... I was wearing leopard print tights and neon pink knee-highs.

OMFG I PAINTED UNION JACKS ON MY NAILS! Nothing says patriotism like wearing one's flag on one's manicure. It was a bit of a fail...and you're not seeing the other hand (it turned into modern art.)

An outfit I wore ages ago that was decidedly blog-worthy.
Batman top (you now have the batman theme tune stuck in your head.) - Portobello/DIY, Velvet shorts - vintage, tights - topshop, cardi - uummmm new look?, geek glasses - boutique-ish place full of art students

Not only is there a rosette in my hair, but it's a FIRST PLACE rosette which was actually won by my dog... (my mom/dad/brother got bored of me raiding their wardrobes.... but the dog can't speak english so....)

I went as a Fashion Victim.
Yep, that's a shoe sticking out of my, uh, brain.

(No teenagers were harmed in the making of this costume. Though I am sad to say that an innocent shoe was defaced. But all in the name of extravagance.)

Here are the details of the.... well, I guess it could be called a fascinator, if not some sort of headdress??

I tried taking some photos of the other details, but my camera wasn't in a great mood and they didn't focus. This is the best I got: the "bleeding chanel logo" ....a sort of play on the recent dripping Cs that seem to be popping up as of late.

And now I have two pieces of very exciting news to tack onto the end of my halloween post!

First of all, I have decided to create a bloggerish email address. I confess I spent ages trying to come up with something cute and unique but still memorable.

I ended up with bella.englisheccentric@googlemail.com which ticks none of the boxes but oh well.

We'll see how it goes :)

Hello my homies :]
I just got back from the inspirational and sweltering land of Egypt. I admit, I took over 600 photos but I've tried to narrow it down to just nine.
Obviously, most of the photos I took were pretty touristy and didn't have a great deal of artistic merit...and I was using my slightly aged digital camera.... these are the ones that ashame me least!
And how about a lovely little commentary accompanying each one?

Ok, here we have, um... my leg :) I loved the perspective that these pillars created, so I stuck the leg in there to break it up a bit.

These are som fishermen on the nile. Oh how picturesque.

These are ancient egyptian perfume recipies in a temple. There was an entire room covered floor-to-ceiling with these carvings. Jo Malone meets the Shining in Pharonic times??? :o

This is a cow, if you haven't already guessed :p it was grazing on one of those random paches of grass that sits on the nile, kinda like a skin sits on soup.

This is an obelisk which I think was built by queen Hetshepsut, probably the most kickass pharoh ever.

Egyptian perfume bottles (I doubt they were made from the earlier recipies if that's what you're thinking :])

Not only is this a fucking awesome and photogenic camel, it's called mickey :o

The Great Pyramid af Giza which I hiked up inside depite a lack of stairs and air conditioning. It was pretty breathtaking and spooky, though :)

Here's my little dolly makeup type of thing that I've been wanting to for a while... but I was worried it would look a bit slightly-pretentious-hooker-who-had-a-splurge-at-MAC-and-then-got-caught-in-a-bow-thunderstorm-and-needs-to-comfort-herself-with-a-very-out-of-proportion-and-cliched-piece-of-candy. I was right. Especially about the pretentious bit ;)

this could explain the randomness. Yeah, a whole pack of sour cherries....and a shitload more actually :3

I had a nice little treat the other day, bumping into Dot from Street Style London with a bunch of my friends. And even better, my camera decided it was in a good mood (I think it was a little star-struck actually) and allowed me one reasonable snapshot :) Of course the geek chic glasses had to come out for this photo. Best £8 I ever spent :)
Oh, and check out Nicky's poseyness and one Union Jack Doc Marten reflected in the window. I really do rock at choosing backdrops, eh?

I am very very jelous of her camera...and the fact that she doesn't look like a 14-year-old newb taking pictures with it on the street (yet can still pull off neon pink socks)

Yep, September 10th was my birthday. I am now fourteen! (ok, maybe the header was a dead giveaway on that XD)

As some of you may know, (the more awesome among you ;p) it also happened to be Vogue's Fashion's Night Out :D I managed to trawl most of Oxford Street with Bee and Loopy. And got the TShirt. oh yesh. :D sadly that I didn't get to do New Bond Street... apparently KARL LAGERFELD was in, plus some pretty damn amazing Vivienne Westwood shoe displays :[ it had to be a school night, eh?

I did see some great stuff in oxford street, however :D Selfridges had some cool events... there was a photobooth on the ground floor run by fashionair.com , which I have just checked out and it rocks :p The people there were actually really sweet and let us go in three times *cough cough*

Oh, and, I finally got my creepers!!! Aren't they cute?

aahahhahahaha, no need to flatter me, they're kinda ugly :p but, like, in the cutest possible way, right?? ..........oh well, I like them XD

Ok, now get ready for a shitload of pictures from the day. Some are taken at school, one or two at FNO and a couple at my house afterwards. I know theyre kinda crap, still havent found my way around the DSLR.

Yes, I did get a scolding at school today for wearing too-short-shorts. I feel I give a new meaning to the phrase "suffering for fashion" :p
speaking of school, (which started last thursday, by the way,) I've seen a lot of first-day-of-school posts and wanted to do one. I snapped this slightly crappy picture before I walked out the door :] Vivienne Westwood-ish, no?

It is also an exciting time for me, as Jonah has allowed me sub-ownership of his semi-proffessional camera :D this was taken with it, but it is not done much justice because..

1) I have a ridiculously early wakeup time and the sun was not even out at this point/I was extremely tired...

2) I have no idea how to work it (he didn't think to give me the manual :p)

3) We have just had this wallpaper put in and I doubt I can stand in front of it for too long without passing out/going silly from the fumes :]

and I now have a few "separate notes" which may be somewhat interesting...

I saw Coco Before Chanel the other day with Bee and it inspired this little doodle of a Chanel-ish person....

Anyways, I have always liked the understated glamour of a drapey silk shirt. I added a boyfriend jacket and tapered trousers, which Coco seemed to be wearing throughout most of the film. You should definitely see it if you haven't already, by the way :D

Oh, and if anyone knows where to get those amazing lime-green tapered trousers I keep seeing, could they tell me cause I want some like hell?

Typewriters and Tambojukeleles

Back in the day before blogger and facebook and Windows Vista, people used to write using things called typewriters, which you'd have to go to woolworths (back in the day...) and buy ink for, and a piece of carbon paper if you wanted to make a copy.....

Not that I'd know anything about it, considering I wasn't actually alive at the time. However I did find a typewriter for £2 at a boot sale :D I've secretly always wanted one, and have been stuck in Suffolk all summer. The romanticist that I am, have been nosing around boot sales with a five pound note trying to find some chic bargain. I think that my parents may have gotten a shock when I came home with something other than the usual haul of vintage posters (My favourite being a Guiness one from somewhere between the 1950s-90s, reading"Guiness Is Good For You - Makes You Strong!")

Instead I brought home my £2 typewriter, and a £3 tambojukelele (a ukelele with a tambourine body....oh whatever imma post pics in a sec :p) both of which are in working order. The person who sold me the tambojukelele was pretty awesome...she was wearing a red polka-dot mickey mouse dress, bloomers, and a real flower in her hair. I got the feeling that she wore that kinda thing every day :]

Anyway, as soon as I got it all home, I had to have a photo shoot. Violet tolerated being my model despite the brightness of the dreaded British sun....

....taking the piss out of The Red Hot Chilli Peppers just a little ;)

Here is my Lady GaGa, which i spent two weeks on despite not actually liking her music all that much and feeling ever-so-slightly suicidal by the end.... the lyrics on her arm are from 'Paparrazi'
